BIO:

Dmytro is an experienced economist with expertise in public policy, sustainable development, budget processes, regional growth, and data analytics. Since April 2020, he has served as Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and Chief Operating Officer at the Centre for Economic Recovery. In this role, Dmytro spearheads the creation of cross-ministerial plans alongside the Prime Minister and has orchestrated pivotal strategic documents like the Economic Stimulus Program, Audit of Ukrainian Economy, and the National Economic Strategy 2030 (NES 2030), aligning economic growth with international commitments.

In addition to his roles at EasyBusiness and CIVITTA Ukraine, Dmytro excels in data analytics, contributing to USAID AGRO and USAID CEP projects and offering market insights to private sector clients. As a prominent public policy expert, Dmytro has co-authored policy papers, analytical reports, and published articles. Holding degrees in International Economics and Marketing as well as Business Administration from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Dmytro Lyvch is a driving force behind Ukraine’s economic progress and innovation.

BIO:

Krystina Waler is the Director of Ukrainian Initiatives at the Temerty Foundation. Most recently, Krystina was the Executive Director of Help Us Help Charity, an organization that helps venerable children and veterans across Ukraine.

She has lived and worked in Ukraine for various periods since 2005. Throughout this time, she has been involved in many humanitarian efforts there. Most notably, from 2014-2018, Krystina worked with the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine to coordinate and execute surgical missions that operated on Ukrainians who sustained traumatic facial and upper extremity injuries while fighting for Ukraine’s sovereignty in Eastern Ukraine and Crimea. This initiative saw Canadian and Ukrainian medical professionals work together to reconstruct the bodies of hundreds of defenders of Ukraine and continues to this day.

In Canada, she has served as a member of the board of directors for the Children of Chornobyl Fund, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – National, and the Canada-Ukraine Foundation among others.

Krystina holds a Master of Science degree from the University of Toronto. In 2019 and 2021, Krystina was a candidate in the federal election in St. Catharines, Canada. She is passionate about supporting a free Ukraine and the uniting the global efforts to support Ukraine.

Svitlana Grytsenko is a Board Member of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, an international, private philanthropic foundation based in Ukraine that was established in 2006 with the aim to empower the young generation to change their country and the world.

Among others, Svitlana coordinates the Ukraine Relief Fund, a collaborative philanthropic effort supporting Ukrainians in need because of war, founded by Victor and Elena Pinchuk and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, Eric and Wendy Schmidt and Schmidt Futures, Robert F. Smith and Vista Equity Partners, Minderoo Foundation of Andrew and Nicole Forrest and General Atlantic Foundation.

Svitlana also leads Zavtra.UA and WorldWideStudies scholarship programs, as well as public lectures by world leaders for Ukrainian students. Over the past 15 years, these two scholarship programs have graduated about 3,000 young Ukrainian leaders. Mrs. Grytsenko is also a core team member of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Conference that for over a decade remains the strongest platform for a dialogue between Ukrainian and global opinion and decision-makers.

Ms. Grytsenko is a member of the Ukraine House Organizing Committee that launched the first-ever Ukrainian House in Davos alongside the World Economic Forum in 2018, as well as in 2019, 2020 and 2022.

Roman Waschuk, a Canadian diplomat of Ukrainian heritage, assumed the role of Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine from 2014 to 2019. Waschuk’s diplomatic journey reflects his parents’ immigration from Western Ukraine after World War II. With a master’s degree in history, specializing in Central and Eastern Europe, German, and Russian from the University of Toronto, he embarked on a dynamic diplomatic career.

Waschuk’s path in diplomacy commenced in 1987 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada. His exceptional language skills encompass English, French, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, and Serbian. Throughout his impactful career, Waschuk held pivotal positions, including political counselor in Moscow and Kyiv, contributing to East European affairs, and advising at the Canadian Embassy in Kyiv. Serving as Ambassador to Serbia, with simultaneous accreditation to the Republic of Macedonia and Montenegro, he showcased his diplomatic prowess. Additionally, Waschuk’s engagement extended to Ottawa, where he played a role in various divisions, such as the European Union Division and Stabilization and Reconstruction Programs Division. His commitment to diplomacy was marked by fostering international understanding and solidarity, exemplified by his embassy’s support of protesters during the 2014 Ukraine uprising. Roman Waschuk’s legacy underscores the importance of diplomatic expertise and cross-cultural collaboration.

Meet Oleksandr Babich, a dedicated historian, and researcher hailing from Odessa. Amidst Russia’s persistent conflict, he swiftly assumed a crucial role as a beacon of aid for Ukrainian soldiers. Operating through his travel agency, he orchestrated a volunteer group that forged a close partnership with Polish organizations committed to aiding Ukraine. As his impact grew, he received a call from Kyiv itself – the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine enlisted him for the impactful “On the Shield” initiative.
