Volha Biziukova

BIO:
Volha Biziukova is a post-doctoral fellow affiliated with the Open Society Research Platform at the Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education. Her work is part of a research project aimed at reinvigorating intellectual debates centered around Karl Popper’s legacy, particularly the concept of open society amidst the rise of authoritarianism and social and political polarization. Recently, Volha earned her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna, with a research focus on state-citizen relations, policies, class, and consumption in the post-Soviet space.
Before joining YECHE, she was a junior visiting fellow at the Institute for Human Sciences (IWM), Vienna, for over a year. Volha holds an M.A. in Sociology and Social Anthropology from the Central European University. She has authored several academic research articles and contributed pieces to general media publications.
