BIO:
Tymofii Brik is the Rector at the Kyiv School of Economics and also serves as the National Coordinator of the European Social Survey. Currently, he holds the position of Visiting Fellow at LSE (2022-24) and has been appointed as the Roberta Buffett Visiting Professor of International Studies at the Department of Sociology and the Roberta Buffett Institute (2022-23).
Having completed his PhD at Carlos III University of Madrid, he holds MSc degrees from Utrecht University and Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University. Tymofii has garnered valuable research experience as a visiting scholar at Stanford University (2018) and New York University (2019-2020). Beyond academic endeavors, he actively contributes to various organizations and networks, co-chairing the “Social Inequality” network at the European Social Science History Conference. Moreover, Tymofii is a member of PONARS and VoxUkraine, a board member at CEDOS, and an advisory board member at Gradus Research. Demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, he also co-founded the social restaurant Urban Space 500 in Kyiv.
His dedication to research has been recognized through the N. Panina Award in 2018, presented by the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine for his paper titled “When church competition matters?”
