BIO:
Tamila Tasheva serves as the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, appointed in April 2022 after previously holding the position of Deputy Permanent Representative since November 2019. As a Co-Founder and Chairwoman of CrimeaSOS, she is a prominent human rights activist and a leader among the young generation of Crimean Tatars.
Ms. Tasheva’s work spans advocacy for IDPs, promoting human rights in Crimea, and contributing to Ukrainian legislation on social protection and humanitarian law in occupied territories. Before Crimea’s annexation, she successfully led cultural and educational projects, fostering the Crimean Tatar culture and supporting civil society development in Ukraine. Her dedication to peaceful coexistence and intercultural cooperation earned her the prestigious Polish Sergio Vieira de Mello Award in the “Personality” category in 2019. Additionally, CrimeaSOS has been a valued partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in programs related to IDP protection since 2014.
