Orysia Lutsevych

BIO:

Orysia Lutsevych serves as the deputy director of the Russia and Eurasia Programme and leads the Ukraine Forum at Chatham House. Her research encompasses vital themes such as social change, the role of civil society in democratic transitions within Eastern Europe, and democratic resilience in the face of foreign influence. She has authored significant research publications for Chatham House, including “Resilient Ukraine: Safeguarding Society from Russian Aggression” (co-authored with Mathieu Boulègue, 2020). Orysia’s expertise has also been featured in esteemed media outlets like BBC, CNN, the Guardian, The Times, the Financial Times, and the New York Times.

Before joining Chatham House, Orysia served as the inaugural Academy Robert Bosch fellow and played a leading role in establishing Europe House Georgia. Additionally, she held the position of executive director at the Open Ukraine Foundation. Her academic background includes master’s degrees in international relations from Lviv State University and public administration from the University of Missouri.
