Ella Libanova

BIO:

Ella Libanova is a well-known economist and demographer. She is a distinguished researcher specializing in socio-demographic issues, with extensive involvement in the legislative branch, including advisory roles for senior state officials. As an Academician and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, she holds expertise in Socio-Economics and Labour Economics. With a career spanning several decades, she has contributed significantly to demography, labor economics, social economics, and politics through over 200 scientific papers published in Ukrainian and international journals, including renowned organizations like the UN, World Bank, UNICEF, and ILO.

Ella Libanova’s impactful work includes heading the working group and co-authoring the “Vision and Strategy for demographic development of Ukraine up to 2015”. Notably, she played a pivotal role in developing the original model of Ukraine’s pension system, which received support and approval from esteemed international institutions specializing in pension modeling. Alongside her academic achievements, E.M. Libanova actively serves as an expert and researcher in various influential committees and councils focused on economic reforms, pension system implementation, and state awards in science and technology.
