BIO:
Aliona Liasheva is a Ukrainian researcher currently residing in Milan, Italy. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and pursued a Master of Arts in Urban Studies through the Erasmus Mundus 4cities program. As an active member of the editorial board at Commons: Journal of Social Criticism, a Ukrainian left-wing journal, Aliona stays engaged in the academic community.
Currently, she is a PhD Candidate at Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca, focusing her research on post-Soviet urban political economy, particularly the growth of housing in Kyiv and Baku.
