BIO:
Mychailo Wynnyckyj holds the position of Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Lviv Business School of Ukrainian Catholic University. He has contributed to educational reform in Ukraine, having served as an Advisor to the Minister of Education and Science and leading the Secretariat of Ukraine’s National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance since 2019. Wynnyckyj holds a PhD in Economic Sociology from the University of Cambridge (U.K.), awarded in 2004.
During the Revolution of Dignity, he provided insightful commentary for English-language media and maintained a blog called “Thoughts from Kyiv”; where he analyzed current events. His book “Ukraine’s Maidan, Russia’s War: A Chronicle and Analysis of the Revolution of Dignity” was published in 2019 and is distributed by Columbia University Press, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of Ukraine’s socio-political landscape. A Canadian native, he has made Kyiv his permanent residence since 2003, alongside his wife and four children.
